Learning How To Hold Yourself, Even When It’s Hard
When I ask myself if I can hold it
I’m asking myself
Can I hold myself through all
the sensations that will inevitably
happen when I say yes to this experience?
The answer I’m looking for is a felt sense of:
Hell yes
Yes and I need ____
NO
For example:
A few weeks ago I said YES 🙌🏾
to open my heart to an
undeniable energy with a man
I remember the moment
I said yes to myself & him
I felt the effervescent energy
begin to flow through my body followed by
A cascade of trepidation radiates
through my belly like a siren
alerting me to the RISK of
choosing to open myself to him
I gently placed my hand on my belly
where I felt the siren of trepidation
and whispered…
I feel you, we are okay.
I can hold us here
My body immediately relaxed
The trepidation alchemized into excitement
As all this was happening inside me…
he felt my energy shift and named
what he called ‘good intense’
energy he was experiencing
I named the sensations in my belly
and how it turned from trepidation to excitement
Simply by asking myself if
I could hold myself here
I felt myself rooting deeper into the
truth and knowing that no matter what
I will not self-abandon
My practice of answering this
question transformed my
relationship with trust
I started this practice ever so
S L O W L Y in 2016 when
I chose Abstinence from alcohol
Over the years it has guided me
to expand my nervous system
to choosing a life of MORE…
Simultaneously, it’s been Regroovin’ ™
my disorganized attachment system and
opening me to be secure & grounded in my relating
It’s a practice of expansion
Expanding yourself to feel your life force power
Moving you out of the overthinking about the past
Cultivating deep trust within.
